Diocese of Legazpi

SOLT sent the first team to the Philippines through the Diocese of Legazpi in 1975. The first missions were located on the Cagraray Islands off the coast of Southeast Luzon. At that time, the island had no permanent priest and was served once a year only by Bishop Timoteo Pacis. SOLT was assigned by Bishop Pacis to establish the first parish (Sacred Heart) on the island. This work quickly spread to three other islands: San Miguel, Bataan and Rapu Rapu.

Today, there are over 20 apostolic missions in the Luzon Region. One example of the ongoing apostolic work is found in the Holy Cross Parish. This parish was established in the area of Metro Manila Novali. There are many specialized apostolates in all of the missions of the region serving: family life, children, social development, primary schooling, and New Evangelization. From this region, we see also a special apostolate to vocations. Countless vocations to the priesthood, consecrated spouses of Christ and Lay Faithful witnessing their service as Lay Apostles have come from these missions in the Philippines.
