Get it Tuesday!

What we did:

Today was get it Tuesday! We started our morning with an early holy hour and mass. We ate breakfast and off we went to the Arenal and Calla Creek schools to meet the kids! We focused on the Good Shepherd parable and performed a skit in order to explain the story. We then split up into classes and taught them about God’s love for us and how the parable teaches us that. After meeting all the beautiful kids, we came back to eat lunch at Chapel Hill. Once we wrapped up eating we went back to Timmy’s and Tranquilino’s houses to keep working. It rained pretty heavy for a little but thankfully we were still able to work with them for our couple hours. We then hurried back to Chapel hill to prep for youth night and to eat dinner. We then rushed to Youth Night and began what would be an amazing night! The youth night’s theme was “sent” and we heard from Lucia and Brenton about the Holy Spirit and how he has been present in their lives. Then Courtney shared her beautiful testimony. We then had a discussion and went into prayer through the Holy Spirit within our groups. The Holy Spirit was so present within each teen and it was truly beautiful to witness. Once we finished up at youth night we came back to Chapel Hill and had team time, night prayer, and then went to bed, closing up Get it Tuesday!

What I thought about what we did:

Today was a full day, but it was also filled with blessings! To start off, adoration and mass is an amazing way to start the day with joy and peace at heart. Once we arrived to the schools and met all the kids, our day got even better. The smiles and the outpouring of love from all of them really touched my heart. I felt free with them and had so much fun talking to them, teaching them, and playing with them. Working in the houses was also amazing. God is teaching me so many virtues through scraping paint and sanding walls. I have also been learning so much through Timmy, whom I’ve been helping, with his humility, kindness, and love for God and others. Lastly, the youth night was beyond amazing! The Holy Spirit was very present in every word and breath while we prayed. My kids even offered to pray for me and I felt God’s presence, peace, and freedom while it happened. It was a very beautiful and fulfilling day!
